How We Did This
We shipped Several pieces that combined created a U Lifting Frame and the winching mechanism for submersible vessels lifted on and off an exploration ship.
The U frame was over height and over width and was moved on a flat rack, the winch mechanism weighed almost 60,000 kg (60 Tonnes) and was shipped breakbulk, several containers were also moved containing parts for the U Frame and winch. The cargo transhipped though Durban since no direct services were available and was on forwarded to Lagos for fitting.
Why SIG?
“Transporting U Frames is always challenging. Due to the size and awkward shape of the cargo each shipment requires detailed planning prior to uplifting. However, thanks to concise planning, communication and working with an experienced and dedicated team the entire project ran smoothly on time and without any major challenges along the supply chain. Another successfully completed project.
